DULAC- Four Summers - 7" - SIC(!)LIFE RECORDS

click to enlarge Limited edition EP from this german band, with a previous album released in TAKEN BY SURPRISE. Features 3 hits, perfect in time for summer. A mix of Post-Punk and Powerpop, and some more influences maybe... all tuneful, upbeat and catchy. References that struck me the most while listening: REPLACEMENTS, ELVIS COSTELLO and a bit of THE JAM.

DYSNEA BOYS- Find Water/Mind Stories - 7"

click to enlarge Berlin-based band, consisting of american/canadian expatriates, being an homage to 1980s skate and punk culture. All members were active in those early days, now returning to their roots. Most notably singer Jason Honea, former frontman of SOCIAL UNREST. Actually both songs sound as if it could be long-lost SOCIAL UNREST songs, recorded back then in the 80s... Self-released by the band, 2nd pressing in a limited handnumbered edition of 300 copies.

They're playing classic early 80s Skate-Punk, sounding like an homage to their own past, in the vein of the ADOLESCENTS, CIRCLE JERKS, AGENT ORANGE, and SOCIAL UNREST...

One song from the DYSNEA BOYS, featuring former SOCIAL UNREST singer Jason, and sounding not unlike that band... Limited edition of 200 copies only pn DEBT OFFENSIVE RECORDS!
